The Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry (CAFE) provides didactic activities at specialized disciplines from chemical engineering, environmental engineering, biochemical engineering and biotechnologies in Bachelor's and Master’s degree programs from the Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science, as well as from other faculties of POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest.
The Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry coordinates several Master programs like "Expertise in Chemicals, Food and Materials", "Life Sciences and Ecology" at the Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science.
The main research directions of this Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry are part of the field of: inorganic chemistry (bioinorganic complexes chemistry, chemistry of transition metal), physical chemistry (equilibrium phase thermodynamics, study of physico-chemical properties of substances, physical biochemistry) and electrochemistry (kinetics of electrode processes, corrosion and corrosion protection, chemical sources of current).
